Redundant Smart Charging System on Battery Powered Carts and Tugs

Every PHS West, Inc. Ergo-Express Battery Powered Carts and Tugs are equipped with a Redundant Smart Charging System. This works like a gas pump, as long as you keep the product plugged in, the charger will trickle a charge to the battery.  When it is full it will shut off and not over charge the unit.  As the product sits the batteries will lose some charge, this will trigger the smart charging system to kick back in and trickle some more charge into the batteries.

Non-Memory Forming Batteries on Battery Powered Carts and Tugs

All Ergo-Express Battery Powered Carts and Tugs are also equipped with two non-memory forming batteries.  Think of it like this: Your cell phone creates a memory of how frequently it is charged up. If you charge your phone every few hours, your phone will need to be charged every few hours. Best practices for a cell phone is to drain the battery all the way down and charge it all the way up. The opposite is true for our batteries.  They thrive on frequent charging, never form a memory of how frequently they are charged and actually will perform at their peak when the battery is not allowed to drain all the way down and charged all the way back up.

Rule of Thumb:

All Ergo-Express Battery Powered carts and tugs should remain plugged in when not in use to ensure a full battery when the product is needed. The battery will never form a memory of how frequently it is being charged and the batteries will never over charge.
